If your supervisor is like me, they will want page numbers on every draft you send them. It helps me a lot when reading student work on planes and in other situations where I am juggling paper and pages can get out of order. It also helps me give feedback because I can direct students to certain pages.
So rather than having to remember to put page numbers on every draft, why not set up your Normal template so that page numbers automatically appear on every new document you create in Word? Here’s how.
In Word, open the Normal template by clicking Open on the File tab. Navigate to C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates and open the Normal template (Normal.dotm).
Then insert page numbers in the template using the Page Number tool on the Insert ribbon.
Then save your template and close it.
Try it out by opening Word and creating a new document.
